Zazen on Ching-t'ing Mountain
The birds have vanished from the sky.
Now the last cloud drains away.
We sit together, the mountain and me,
until only the mountain remains.
--Li Po (aka Li Bai, Li Bo, etc)
Chinese poet, 701-762
The poem is from the beautiful little book from Shambala Press entitled The Poetry of Zen selected and translated/adapted by Sam Hamill and J.P. Seaton.
